The Spirochaetaceae are a family of spirochete bacteria. Some species within this family are known to have been causes for syphilis, Lyme disease, relapsing fever, and other illnesses.[1]
Phylogeny
The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[2] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).[3]
