InsideHook is a digital lifestyle publication designed for those who wish to maintain a meaningful, ongoing connection to the worlds of culture, wellness, and leisure. InsideHook covers style, travel, dining, fitness, and more, featuring expert insights, hands-on reviews, and in-depth reporting.[1][2]
Content
InsideHook, founded in 2012 as a men's lifestyle newsletter, has expanded into a comprehensive digital media brand, reaching a national audience through a website platform, six email newsletters, and social channels including Instagram and Youtube.[2]
In 2024, InsideHook partnered with sports journalist Seth Davis to launch HoopsHQ, a subscription-based media platform covering all things men's and women's college basketball.[3] Acclaimed NCAA media personalities Seth Davis and Andy Katz premiered The Hoops HQ Show, a talk show on Fubo Sports Network and YouTube covering college basketball hot takes, pre and post-game analysis, breaking news, and more.[4]
In November 2025, InsideHook launched a video series titled I Know A Place, exploring the best bars in New York City, featuring recommendations from Senior Editor Amanda Gabriele.
As of 2026, InsideHook features the following free newsletters:
- The Daily: A Monday-Friday daily digest covering InsideHook's top stories and recommendations.
- The Goods: A curated shopping newsletter where editors test and recommend products ranging from apparel to appliances.
- The Spill: A Thursday newsletter dedicated to drinking culture, cocktail recipes, and bottle reviews.
- The Stitch: A Monday and Wednesday fashion newsletter providing a curated guide to menswear trends.
- The Charge: A weekly wellness newsletter providing tips on fitness, longevity, mental-health, and more.
- The Journey: A weekly travel newsletter providing unique trip inspiration and recommendations.
Origins
InsideHook began in 2012 as a daily email lifestyle newsletter targeted at the "adventurous and discerning" man, based in New York City.[5] Entrepreneur Andy Russell was inspired by a similar email newsletter, DailyCandy, whose target demographic was young women.[5]
Russell gathered $22 million in funds to start Trigger Media Group and its first startup, InsideHook, launched in 2012.[1][5] In 2013, actor Rob Lowe was the face of InsideHook L.A.'s curated email newsletter.[6]
Critical reception
New York Daily News dubbed InsideHook, "A new free daily email service that provides "inspiration for driven men," adding, "Make no mistake about it, InsideHook knows what they’re talking about."[7]
