Fred Genesee

Fred Genesee is a professor emeritus of psychology at McGill University^[2] known for his work on second language acquisition and bilingualism.^[3]

Genesee is a former president of TESOL International Association,^[4] and was the winner of the 2004 Canadian Psychological Association Award for Distinguished Contributions to Public or Community Service,^[3] the 2014 Canadian Psychological Association Gold Medal Award For Distinguished Lifetime Contributions to Canadian Psychology,^[5] the 2016 Canadian Association of Second Languages Honorary Lifetime Member Award,^[6] and the 2024 International Association for the Study of Child Language Roger Brown Award.^[7]
