After this success on Riot in Cell Block 11 Neville Brand signed a two picture contract with Aliled Artists. The first film was Return from the Sea and the second was Bobby Ware is Missing; in between Brand made another film for Allied, Son of Slade.[4]

Filming started 20 June 1955.[5]
