Adoxa is the type genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae. It contains four species, including the moschatel (A. moschatellina).[1][2]

The genus was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753 in Species Plantarum.[1] The family Adoxaceae is named after the genus.
